Short answer: Not with a Pakistan-incorporated business. As of October 2026, Pakistan is not on Walmart Marketplace's list of eligible countries for international sellers. A US-registered business owned from Pakistan can apply as a US seller instead. It must meet the same requirements as any US applicant, and Walmart decides each application.
Walmart updates its seller rules regularly. Everything below was checked against Walmart Marketplace's own pages as of October 2026, so recheck them before you apply.
Who Walmart Marketplace accepts in 2026
Walmart Marketplace accepts two broad groups of sellers: businesses registered in the US, and businesses incorporated in a list of eligible countries.
US-registered businesses
US applicants apply with a business tax ID or business license number, and Walmart states that an SSN is not accepted. For US businesses, Walmart's documentation guide names the documents it accepts. These include an IRS EIN verification letter (147C) or the SS-4 confirmation letter (CP 575). They also include a state business license, registration certificate, articles of incorporation or Certificate of Good Standing.
Walmart's published requirements focus on the business, its documents and its track record. Walmart also asks for a copy of a personal ID during onboarding.
International sellers from eligible countries
Walmart's tax and documentation guide lists the countries where non-US businesses can be incorporated and still apply. As of October 2026, those countries are:
- China, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam;
- the United Kingdom, Germany and Turkey;
- Canada, Mexico and Chile.
Pakistan is not on the list. Walmart may add countries later, so check the guide again before you decide on a structure.
Requirements checklist
This table summarises Walmart's published requirements for a US-registered applicant. Each row comes from Walmart Marketplace's own pages (see Sources).
| Requirement | What Walmart says | Source |
|---|---|---|
| US business tax ID | Business tax ID or business license number; SSN not accepted. For US businesses, an EIN letter (147C or CP 575) is an accepted document | Seller registration guide; tax classifications and documentation guide |
| Business verification documents | Documents that verify your business name and address, such as a state registration certificate or Certificate of Good Standing; plus a copy of a personal ID | Seller registration guide; "Before you start selling" guide |
| US return address | A valid US return address; it can't be a P.O. box, and it can't be in Hawaii, Alaska or US territories | Returns policy |
| Marketplace or e-commerce history | A history of marketplace or e-commerce success | Seller registration guide |
| Product catalog | Products with GTIN/UPC GS1 Company Prefix numbers (exemptions can be requested for some private label or handmade items), and a catalog that complies with Walmart's Prohibited Products Policy | Seller registration guide |
| Fulfillment capability | Walmart Fulfillment Services (WFS), or another B2C US warehouse with returns capability | Seller registration guide |
The registration guide also mentions setting up payments through a third-party payment provider, and a payment hold for new sellers during an initial period. Plan your cash flow around that.
The US-entity path from Pakistan
For a Pakistan-based founder, the usual sequence is:
- Form a US LLC in a US state, with a registered agent.
- Get an EIN from the IRS. International applicants without an SSN or ITIN can apply by phone, fax or mail using Form SS-4.
- Get bank- and payout-ready, with every account in the LLC's exact legal name.
- Set up US fulfilment and a US return address that meets Walmart's rules.
- Apply to Walmart Marketplace with documents that match each other exactly.
Our step-by-step guide on how to form a US LLC from Pakistan covers steps 1 to 3 in detail. If you'd like help with the entity itself, see our US LLC formation service.
Why applications get rejected
Walmart does not publish a full list of rejection reasons. But its requirements point to where applications tend to fall short. Third-party guides such as GeekSeller's say the same.
- Thin selling history. Walmart asks for a history of marketplace or e-commerce success. A brand-new entity with no sales record has little to show. GeekSeller's guide for non-US sellers describes this as at least a year of marketplace or e-commerce success.
- Mismatched documents. If the business name on the EIN letter, state filing, bank details and application differ, verification gets harder.
- Missing or invalid return address. A P.O. box, or an address in a location Walmart excludes, doesn't meet the returns policy.
- No fulfilment plan. Walmart expects either WFS or a B2C US warehouse that can handle returns.
- Catalog problems. Products without valid GTINs, or items on the prohibited list.
Approval is Walmart's decision. No service provider can get you approved. What a good team can do is make sure your application is complete, consistent and honest.
After approval: dropshipping rules on Walmart
Dropshipping on Walmart is possible only within its Shipping & Fulfillment Policy. Two rules matter most:
- No retail arbitrage. You may not buy products from another retailer and have that retailer ship the order directly to your customer.
- Only your name, or the manufacturer's. Packing slips, materials, invoices and external packaging may not show any entity other than the manufacturer or seller, unless Walmart grants an exception. You also may not ship orders in competitor boxes or packaging.
In practice, that makes you the seller of record. Your suppliers must ship blind under your name, and you remain responsible for every order. We will cover Walmart's drop shipping rules in more depth in a separate post.

Frequently asked questions
Is Pakistan on Walmart's approved country list?
No. As of October 2026, Walmart Marketplace's tax and documentation guide does not list Pakistan among the countries where non-US sellers can be incorporated. Check the guide for updates before you apply.
Can a Pakistani own the US LLC that applies to Walmart?
Walmart's published requirements focus on the business: a US business tax ID, verification documents, track record, catalog and fulfilment. They don't list owner nationality as a criterion. Walmart still verifies identity and decides each application, so approval is never certain.
Do I need previous marketplace sales to be approved?
Walmart lists a history of marketplace or e-commerce success as a requirement. Applicants with no selling record are at a disadvantage.
Do I need a US address and phone?
You need a valid US return address that is not a P.O. box and not in Hawaii, Alaska or a US territory. You also need documents that verify your business address. Provide the phone details the application asks for, using a number the business controls.
Can I dropship on Walmart?
Only within Walmart's Shipping & Fulfillment Policy. You may not buy from another retailer and have it ship directly to your customer. Packaging and documents may show only the manufacturer or you as the seller.
