Short answer: To sell on Temu as a US business in 2026, you register through Temu Seller Center (seller.temu.com), submit your business details, verify the business representative's identity, and set up your shop. You should expect to provide a tax identification number such as an EIN, a government-issued ID, proof of address, and bank account details. You also need a way to ship orders from inventory you control, either your own warehouse or a third-party logistics (3PL) provider.
That is the short version. The rest of this guide covers what Temu's local seller model is, what to prepare, how the steps fit together, and the operating habits that decide whether a Temu account is worth running. Marketplace rules change often, so check every requirement against Seller Center before you act.
What changed: Temu's local seller model
Temu started as a marketplace where most products shipped from overseas. In March 2024 it launched a Local Seller Program in the United States. The program lets businesses list products and fulfil domestic orders themselves. Industry coverage reports that the program has since grown to dozens of markets, and that US sellers have been able to sell into Canada since December 2025.
For founders, this matters because Temu is no longer only a channel for overseas factories. A US business with stock in a US warehouse can now list, sell and ship directly to Temu shoppers, much as it would on other marketplaces.
Seller-fulfilled, not marketplace-fulfilled
Temu's own Seller Center states that it "does not provide logistics services directly." Instead, it offers integrated logistics options to simplify fulfilment. In practice, you or your 3PL pick, pack and ship each order, upload valid tracking, and handle returns under Temu's policies. If you have run Amazon FBM (Fulfilled by Merchant), the model will feel familiar.
Who can sell on Temu
Seller Center offers a separate registration path for US sellers. Temu also runs separate paths for sellers registered in other regions. Eligibility, available categories and logistics options vary by country, and Temu updates them regularly.
As a working rule for the US local program, plan on having:
- A registered business. Temu's seller privacy policy says it collects tax information and documents, including a tax identification number. For most US entities, that is an EIN.
- A verified representative. Temu collects a government-issued ID (such as a passport or driver's license) for the person applying on behalf of the business.
- Proof of address. This might be a utility bill, a bank statement, or for a business address, a lease or similar document.
- A bank account. Temu collects account holder name, account number and supporting bank documents such as statements. The account holder should match the legal seller.
- US inventory and fulfilment. Orders ship domestically, so you need stock in the US, either in your own facility or with a 3PL.
If you are a founder based outside the United States, the usual route is to form a US entity, get an EIN, and set up US fulfilment first. Whether a particular structure is accepted is Temu's decision, so confirm it in Seller Center before you commit capital. Our guide to US LLCs for non-US Amazon sellers explains how the entity, EIN and bank pieces fit together.
How to sell on Temu: the registration process, step by step
Temu presents onboarding as a short process. Its Seller Center describes about one minute to create an account, about ten minutes to complete the application, and results in about one day. Your own timeline depends on how ready your documents are.
Step 1: Create your Seller Center account
Register with a business email or phone number on seller.temu.com and choose the US seller path. Use an email address the business controls long-term, not a personal inbox that belongs to one employee.
Step 2: Submit business information
Enter your legal business name exactly as it appears on your formation documents and IRS records, along with your business type, tax ID and registered address. Most early rejections come from mismatches here, such as an abbreviation, a missing "LLC", or an old address.
Step 3: Verify the business representative
The representative uploads a government-issued ID and completes identity verification. Use clear, full-color scans or photos that show all four corners.
Step 4: Add banking and complete shop setup
Connect the bank account that will receive payouts, then set up your shop profile, shipping settings and return address. Read Temu's current seller agreement and fee terms in Seller Center at this stage. Commission and fee details can change and may differ by category, so do not rely on figures quoted in third-party articles, including this one.
Step 5: List products and connect your systems
You can list products manually or through integrations. Temu has released a Shopify integration for US merchants, and several shipping and multichannel tools now connect to Temu. If you already sell on Shopify, Amazon or Walmart, plan how inventory will sync before you list. Overselling the same unit on two channels is one of the quickest ways to damage a new account.
Before you apply: a readiness checklist
Use this list to avoid back-and-forth during review:
- Formation documents with your exact legal name and address.
- EIN confirmation letter (or other applicable tax ID).
- Representative's passport or driver's license, current and legible.
- Proof of address dated recently, in the business or representative's name.
- Bank account in the legal seller's name, with a recent statement.
- A confirmed US fulfilment setup: warehouse or 3PL, carrier accounts and a return address.
- A product list with costs, landed costs and target margins.
- A plan for inventory sync across every channel you sell on.
Running a Temu account after approval
Approval is the easy part. What makes a Temu account sustainable is the operating discipline behind it.
Shipping speed and tracking
Temu sets handling-time, tracking-upload and delivery expectations for local sellers, and enforces them through performance metrics. The exact thresholds are published in Seller Center and can change, so build your process to beat them comfortably rather than just meet them. That means same-day or next-day dispatch, tracking uploaded as soon as a label is printed, and carriers that provide reliable scan events.
Pricing and margin control
Temu shoppers are price-sensitive. Before you list, work out your true unit economics: product cost, inbound freight, warehousing, pick-and-pack, outbound shipping, returns and Temu's fees. A product that looks profitable on Amazon may not be on Temu once these costs are included. We cannot promise any level of sales or profit on Temu, and anyone who does should be treated with caution.
Inventory accuracy across channels
If one warehouse serves Temu, Amazon and Shopify, stock counts must update quickly across all of them. Spreadsheets break down here. A system that ties orders, purchasing, receiving and stock together reduces cancellations caused by selling units you no longer have.
Customer service and returns
Respond to buyer messages within Temu's expected windows, and handle returns according to the policy you configured. Fast, documented responses protect your account when disputes come up.

Both services are priced after a consultation, because scope depends on your catalogue, your fulfilment setup and the markets you plan to sell in.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need an invitation code to sell on Temu?
Not for the US local seller path. Seller Center lets US businesses register directly. A referral code field exists but is optional.
Can an individual sell on Temu without a business?
Temu's seller privacy policy describes data collected from individual applicants as well as businesses, but what is accepted depends on the market and program. Most serious sellers register as a business so the tax ID, bank account and legal name all match.
Does Temu charge a registration fee?
Industry coverage of the Local Seller Program describes onboarding as no-cost. Commissions and other fees apply to sales and vary by category and program. Check the current fee schedule in Seller Center before you price your products.
Can I sell on Temu from outside the United States?
Temu runs region-specific seller paths. For the US local program, you need US fulfilment and the business details Temu asks for during verification. Founders outside the US usually form a US entity first. Confirm your eligibility with Temu before investing in inventory.
How long does approval take?
Temu says it aims to return application results in about one day. Incomplete or mismatched documents are the most common cause of delays.
